Senior students learn within a structured and supportive environment that promotes independence, responsibility and self-management—key skills for success beyond secondary school in further study, training or the workforce.
The Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) is the primary senior secondary qualification in Victoria and is recognised nationally and internationally. It provides pathways to university, TAFE, apprenticeships and employment.
Students typically complete the VCE over Years 11 and 12, with opportunities for accelerated study beginning in Year 10. With access to a broad range of VCE subjects and VCE/VET programs, students can tailor their studies to their interests while also gaining nationally recognised industry qualifications alongside their senior certificate.
The VCE Vocational Major is a hands-on learning pathway for students in Years 11 and 12 who are interested in applied learning and practical experiences. This program focuses on building employability skills, strengthening literacy and numeracy, and developing the personal capabilities required for work and life beyond school.
Students undertaking the VCE Vocational Major complete a VET subject aligned to their career interests and participate in structured workplace learning as part of their program.
Vocational Education and Training, delivered to school students, allows Year 10, 11 and 12 students to study TAFE-based qualifications as part of their senior secondary program. Students can choose from Certificate I, II or III courses in a range of industry areas, gaining nationally recognised qualifications while completing their senior certificate.
VET programs may be delivered on campus, with additional options available through local training providers across the Ballarat region, giving students access to a wide range of vocational pathways.
