Students learn through three key areas:
Students study a wide range of texts, including novels, films and digital media. They learn to understand ideas, think critically and explore different perspectives.
Students develop skills to write clearly and effectively for different purposes and audiences. They learn to plan, draft and improve their writing while building confidence with spelling, grammar and punctuation.
Students take part in discussions, group work and presentations. They learn to listen respectfully, share ideas and communicate with confidence.
In the senior years, students may study VCE English, which builds skills in reading, writing and analysis. The course prepares students for VCE assessments and supports further study, training and employment.
