Health & Physical Education

At Mount Rowan Secondary College, Health and Physical Education supports students to develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to lead healthy, active lives. The program promotes physical wellbeing, mental health and positive relationships.

Students learn through two key areas:

Health Education

Students develop an understanding of physical, social and emotional health. Learning includes respectful relationships, mental health, online safety, nutrition and personal wellbeing. Students are supported to make informed choices and know when and how to seek support.

Physical Education

Students participate in a range of physical activities and sports that build fitness, teamwork and resilience. They develop movement skills, learn the value of regular physical activity, and are encouraged to challenge themselves in a supportive environment.

VCE Pathways

In the senior years, students may choose from a range of VCE studies:

  • Health and Human Development, focusing on health and wellbeing across the lifespan
  • Physical Education, exploring movement, fitness, training and the body in action
  • Outdoor Education, developing leadership, teamwork and environmental awareness through outdoor learning experiences

These pathways support students interested in further study or careers in health, sport, fitness, education and outdoor industries.

Health and Physical Education at Mount Rowan Secondary College supports students to:

  • Develop healthy habits for life
  • Build resilience, confidence and wellbeing
  • Work positively with others
  • Make safe and informed choices

Our program supports all students to stay active, feel connected and prepared for future pathways.
