Extra Curriculum

The Advance program is a state recognised program that students from Mount Rowan are involved in. It is a 12 month program with students participating in Year 9.
Mount Rowan offers an orientation camp for yr 7’s in February; this camp provides an opportunity for the year 7 cohort to get to know each other and MRC staff in a more relaxed manner whilst participating in adventure activities and activities that link to the yr 7 curriculum.
Regardless of its name, the Filipino Social Club is open to ALL students with an interest in Filipino culture.
Mount Rowan offers a Homework Club during two lunchtimes per week. Tuesday’s and Thursday’s from 12.50pm to 1.30pm.
Instrumental music tuition is available at Mount Rowan on a withdrawal basis of one period per week.
At Mount Rowan we understand that not all learning takes place in the classroom and that most young people also enjoy being involved in a wider range of learning opportunities and extension activities than is readily available in the curriculum program.
The focus of Makerspace at Mt. Rowan Campus is to create an environment in which students from various year levels with shared interests in computing and technology can gather to work on projects, share ideas, and experience a range of technological equipment. It is designed to encourage students to think creatively and develop STEM based skills to tackle problem-solving activities.
